~ Island Cove - Restaurant ~

Island Cove Marina and Resort is proud to announce Fox Cay Restaurant (Pronounced Fox Key) will be opening in our marina this spring. We are very excited that we have attracted nationally experienced restaurant developer Jimmy Taylor to open a restaurant here at our growing marina complex. Jimmy is the real deal ... bringing tremendous experience in the food services business to our facilities. His impressive career with Grady's and Famous Dave's will serve us well as he opens his first Fox Cay right here in Island Cove!

So ... what's with the Cay thing?
Isn't it supposed to be Key?

Okay, pardon our pun, here's the deal. It's a Bahamas thing. When Jimmy and Dave decided to open a restaurant, they were boating near the sand beaches of Cat Cay, near Bimini in the Bahamas. You see, in the islands, an island is referred to as a Cay. It's pronounced "Key" and it is spelled Cay. Jim says that they got it all figured out over there ... that's just the way it is. They never gave it much more thought! And as luck would have it - when it got down to naming the restaurant, Jim and Dave couldn't shake that whole island thing and the laid back, no shirt, no shoes, no problem Bahama thing. So relax, enjoy, and say it any way you like. The most important thing to Jim and Dave is that you enjoy your experience at Fox Cay and find a way to relax while you are here.
